It’s been another week where I’ve struggled to keep to my daily calorie goal. This week my downfall has mainly centred around breakfasts. However I’m pretty confident that the infinite toast blowout I had at the Handmade Bakery was probably worth it.
Anyhow, I’ve still lost this week – so I shouldn’t really complain. And the amount is consistant with what all the books say my 500 calorie a day deficit should give me. However my lack of patience in these things means I’m still a little disappointed.
lbs lost: 1
Miles walked: 34
I should also possibly add
New floors laid: 1
As I spent all Saturday helping my brother and sister-in-law put some engineered wood flooring down in their house (don’t call it laminated flooring whatever you do, ONLY COMMON PEOPLE HAVE LAMINATE FLOORING!!). I very much enjoy a bit of manual labour, and this was no exception. However I’m not convinced my knees will ever bend in quite the same way again.
I’m starting to wonder if I should join the gym and add some strength training to my routine as everything I’ve read states that building up muscle mass is a really good way of losing fat as muscle burns up calories at a significantly faster rate even while at rest.
The only problem is that I have no idea what i’m doing when it comes to weights. I might end up hiring a personal trainer for a few sessions to get me started. If I do though I’m going to have to write some sort of “no shouting at me and calling me maggot” clause into the agreement.
